DKK symposium Augsburg - Implementation crisis in climate protection and adaptation and possible ways out

In February, Prof. Katrin Auspurg took part in the DKK symposium in Augsburg as an expert in environmental sociology and also represented the GLEN study in the discussion with researchers from other disciplines.

About GLEN

In 2024, GLEN (German Longitudinal Environmental Study) has launched as a nationwide panel study dedicated to social science research on the environment and sustainability. Every six months, participants will complete self-administered surveys, gathering data on environmental attitudes, environmentally relevant behaviors, and public acceptance of environmental policies. These data will be made available to the international research community as Scientific Use Files. GLEN will provide valuable insights for a wide range of research questions in sociology, psychology, and economics: What shapes environmental attitudes, behaviors, and policy acceptance? How do environmental policies impact social redistribution? And how do different population groups experience environmental conditions in their local areas—such as noise pollution, air quality, access to transportation infrastructure, and green spaces?

The project is funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG) as a long-term initiative. Want to learn more about the study design?

Collaborative project

GLEN is a collaborative project between LMU München, RPTU Kaiserslautern , and the University of Leipzig.
